Excellent seafood shops abound, with a neighbouring coffee shop/artisan gelateria and plenty of restaurants and bars, some with live music, along the quay. Doorstep activities include a fishing trip from the marina, paddle surfing, body boarding, three national cycle routes and golf at the exceptional parkland Tynemouth Golf course (0.25 miles). A coastal walk brings you to the historic Collingwood statue, and Tynemouth Castle and Priory (1.2 miles) overlooking the headland and long pier. We loved our stay in The Observatory which must be the most unusual place we have rented! The apartment is comfortable and the views are amazing - we loved watching the ferries and other boats coming in and out of the harbour. Well located for bars / restaurants along the quayside, but with no disturbance from them. Near two Metro Stations and the Read moreShields Ferry so we only used the car twice. Henry was a helpful host. Thank you! Hide
