Set in a tranquil, idyllic hamlet in the heart of Hadrian’s Wall country, this cosy cottage studio for two is ideal for walkers, cyclists and sightseers exploring the Northumberland countryside.

This lovely studio-style cottage is ideally situated for exploring the world-famous Hadrian’s Wall, which stretches 80 miles coast to coast. Among the highlights are the Housesteads Roman Fort and Trail, The Chesters Trail and the Birdoswald Roman Fort. You will be near the pretty riverside market town of Hexham, which is steeped in history dating back to the Vikings in the 1300s. Located on the south banks of the River Tyne, the town is surrounded by wonderful countryside and offers a superb range of shops, restaurants and pubs. Notable attractions include Hexham Abbey, Hexham Houses, Hexham Country Park, Dukeshouse Wood and Hexham Racecourse. The much-loved town of Corbridge is full of history, charm and a range of independent shops and boutiques. Why not take a walk and treat yourself to a Michelin Star dinner at restaurant Hjem, Northumberland's most prestigious eatery just 1.5 miles away.

On entering this light and cosy single-level studio-style holiday home, a step up to the door leads you into the entrance lobby. Stepping into the lounge/bedroom you will find a comfy and welcoming room which is ideal for unwinding in, with comfortable seating, TV and a double bed. Going into the bright and attractively designed kitchen/diner, you will find a charming dining area, and the kitchen is fully equipped with an electric 2-ring hob, electric oven, under-counter fridge and microwave. You will also find a shower room complete with a walk-in shower cubicle and a WC.

Stepping outside, you can sit back and relax in the large enclosed lawn garden, which has bench seating and a patio area with table and chairs, making it perfect for dining alfresco. There’s also a summer house/boot room with hooks for outdoor clothing plus a set of golf clubs, two bicycles and two tennis rackets for you to use during your stay. Off-road parking is available for one car on the driveway which is shared with the owners’ home.

  • 1 open-plan bedroom/lounge
  • 1 shower room with and WC
  • Electric 2-ring hob, electric oven, under-counter fridge, microwave and toaster
  • Shared lawn garden with bench seating, patio area with table and chairs and a summer house / boot room with hooks for outdoor clothing
  • TV/DVD in the lounge
  • Central heating and electric included
  • Bed linen included
  • Pubs, restaurants, and shops within short distance. Michelin Star restaurant Hjem, just 1.5 miles away
  • Off-road parking for 1 car on a shared driveway
  • Wall heaters in the bedroom/lounge and kitchen
  • Wi-Fi included
  • 1 step leads up to the front door and entrance lobby
  • Regret no pets
  • Regrettably  the property is too small for additional children. A babe in arms would be considered or  1 child and 1 adult welcome but no additional beds can be supplied.

Wonderful location, very friendly hosts and very friendly locals. Although the property is small it is very well designed and doesn't feel that way. A brilliant base for sightseeing across the whole of Northumberland and into Cumbria.

As noted by other reviewers, this is an excellent, well equipped and compact apartment with plenty of room for two people. Alan was very welcoming and helpful. The availability of an electric car charge point only a short walk away at the village hall was particularly useful for us. The local pub, The Crown Inn, serves tasty, well cooked pub food aRead moret very reasonable prices. We would unreservedly recommend this apartment for any couple looking to stay in this centrally located position. Hide

Small but perfectly formed. The Studio was larger than it looks in the photos online and had everything we needed to make our week in Northumberland comfortable. A well equipped kitchen made it easy to prepare meals once I was used to the hob. Well situated in the village and an easy walk to the local pub.

The Studio looks tiny but has everything you need for a great time. Included in the price is a summer house full of equipment for the active - bikes, golf clubs, badminton and tennis racquets. There was a welcoming bottle of wine cooling in the fridge and the means to cook whatever you wanted to. The hamlet is pretty and the locals friendly. Alan, Read morethe owner, was very helpful suggesting places to visit and things to do. Hide

This is a gem of a place. The location is good for most of the highlights in the area. The studio is compact but clean, well equipped and perfect for a couple. The host is helpful and friendly. I thought the property was a stand alone studio from the information provided but it is in fact attached to the main house...
