Set in a tranquil, idyllic hamlet in the heart of Hadrian’s Wall country, this cosy cottage studio for two is ideal for walkers, cyclists and sightseers exploring the Northumberland countryside.

This lovely studio-style cottage is ideally situated for exploring the world-famous Hadrian’s Wall, which stretches 80 miles coast to coast. Among the highlights are the Housesteads Roman Fort and Trail, The Chesters Trail and the Birdoswald Roman Fort. You will be near the pretty riverside market town of Hexham, which is steeped in history dating back to the Vikings in the 1300s. Located on the south banks of the River Tyne, the town is surrounded by wonderful countryside and offers a superb range of shops, restaurants and pubs. Notable attractions include Hexham Abbey, Hexham Houses, Hexham Country Park, Dukeshouse Wood and Hexham Racecourse. The much-loved town of Corbridge is full of history, charm and a range of independent shops and boutiques.

On entering this light and cosy single-level studio-style holiday home, a step up to the door leads you into the entrance lobby. Stepping into the lounge/bedroom you will find a comfy and welcoming room which is ideal for unwinding in, with comfortable seating, TV and a double bed. Going into the bright and attractively designed kitchen/diner, you will find a charming dining area, and the kitchen is fully equipped with an electric 2-ring hob, electric oven, under-counter fridge and microwave. You will also find a shower room complete with a walk-in shower cubicle and a WC.

Stepping outside, you can sit back and relax in the large enclosed lawn garden, which has bench seating and a patio area with table and chairs, making it perfect for dining alfresco. There’s also a summer house/boot room with hooks for outdoor clothing plus a set of golf clubs, two bicycles and two tennis rackets for you to use during your stay. Off-road parking is available for one car on the driveway which is shared with the owners’ home.

This is a gem of a place. The location is good for most of the highlights in the area. The studio is compact but clean, well equipped and perfect for a couple. The host is helpful and friendly. I thought the property was a stand alone studio from the information provided but it is in fact attached to the main house...

The combined bedroom & seating area was rather cramped however the kitchen area was fine. Garden had a good seating/relaxation.

The cottage was lovely and comfortable and the hosts friendly and welcoming. It was perfect for visiting the Lake District and Hadrians Wall.

The studio was comfortable, clean and cosy and the owners were most hospitable and helpful. The location was ideal for exploring Hadrian's Wall, particularly the impressive central section, and the Roman sites.
