There are plenty of footpaths, cycle paths and bridleways leading into the heart of County Durham and the Durham Dales. You can visit the Beamish open air museum, which tells the story of life in the northeast from the 1820s to the 1940s. The bustling city of Durham is just 10 miles away, and is home to a magnificent cathedral, the University’s Botanic Garden and Oriental Museum, and the Light Infantry Museum. Other highlights include the Tanfield Railway, Auckland Castle, the National Railway Museum and the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
On entering this pretty and welcoming holiday cottage, you will find yourself in the bright and airy open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. With plenty of comfy seating, Smart TV, DVD, music system, electric fire and double doors opening onto the garden, the tastefully furnished lounge is an ideal space to relax in after a lovely day discovering this beautiful area. There is also a charming dining area. Going over to the stylishly designed kitchen you will find it fully equipped with an electric oven and gas hob, microwave, toaster, cafetiere, dishwasher, washing machine and fridge/freezer. Exploring this delightful property further you will find two cosy bedrooms. There’s a master bedroom with a king-size bed, and a twin room. You will also find a bathroom complete with a shower and a WC.
Stepping outside, you can unwind and dine alfresco in the attractive enclosed garden which overlooks the beautiful countryside. There is ample private parking available for two cars. There is a secure cycle store available, and you can even bring your horse with you as stabling and a paddock are available on request.
