The farm is perfectly positioned in the North Pennines, idea for all outdoor pursuits and is located directly on the coast to coast famous Waskerley Way. Golfers can enjoy an array of local courses including the renowned course at Slaley Hall, and fisherman will be delighted with the nearby Waskerley and Derwent Reservoirs. Visit the nearby medieval village of Blanchland, explore the World Heritage site of Hadrian’s Wall or travel a little further afield and visit the historic towns of Hexham, Corbridge or the stunning heritage coastline.

Entering this wonderful contemporary barn conversion into the light and bright open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. Relax on the spacious comfy sofa after a day out exploring this Area of Outstanding natural beauty and perhaps enjoy a great movie or catch up with your favourite TV programme. The well-equipped bespoke kitchen is the perfect place to cook up a storm with electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge, freezer and a handy washing machine. Heading up the stairs to the first floor with quirky LED lighting, you are met with the wonderful spacious double bedroom with ample storage space. The bedroom also features a fantastic Juliet balcony where you can enjoy the amazing woodland and countryside views. Finally, completing the accommodation is the spacious, contemporary and stylish en-suite shower room with large shower and WC.

Venturing outside there is a bench directly outside the property, an ideal place to enjoy a morning coffee or cup of tea. Located opposite the cottage is the seating area with table and chairs, ideal for al fresco dining, or lazy evening stargazing perhaps with a good local beer or a nice glass of wine. There is also an abundance of wildlife and birds that visit the garden, such as barn owls, little owls, short/long eared owls, red kite and woodpeckers and guests are welcome to explore the farmland through the established tracks help feed the lambs. There is ample off-road parking available directly in front of the cottage.

The cottage has everything you need and is very comfortable. It is set in beautiful spacious surroundings and is peaceful. There is outside garden furniture for you to use at your leisure. You will experience the night sky with millions of stars which you don't see anywhere that has street lighting.

Beautiful location - such a lot of wildlife around and splendid isolation from city noise and light-pollution. We saw red deer in the field opposite, pheasants, rabbits, butterflies, prey-birds... Cottage is delightful, and the views are spectacular. Owners great and very friendly. Diane and Simon were outstanding hosts, so warm and welcoming from the start and going above and beyond to enhance our stay throughout, including use of their garden and tips on where to visit. Curlew cottage on this working farm was an ideal base for exploring the area, and although compact was fully equipped and appointed for our holiday needs. Very clean and compact living accommodation great for two people. Quiet location but easily accessible by road to the main cities such as Durham, Sunderland et cetera. Lots of beautiful countryside to explore from a lovely farm based location.

We had a lovely time staying at this cottage - the cottage itself was so spacious, exceptionally clean and was fully equipped with everything we needed. The layout is really well thought out and maximises space. It was also so peaceful and one of the best nights sleep we've had! The Cottage is excellent value for the money, well equipped with everything you need with fabulous views and in easy commute to all destinations and attractions in the area. Both Diane and Simon are the perfect hosts, so friendly and helpful to take care of any needs, highly recommend the location and cottage.

Loved the peace only the sound of the birds and to be able to do walks straight from the door was great the owners were so nice recommend places to go and eat really made you feel welcome there was plenty to do

This is lovely cottage in a quiet location but also easy access to shopping, tourist sites and bike trails. The owners were friendly, helpful and welcoming. Whilst cosy the cottage has everything needed to make it a comfortable base from which to explore the area.

Cottage was ideally situated to explore the area by bike with many interlinked off road cycle tracks accessible directly from the property. We absolutely loved every second here - the cottage is beautiful inside and out! The location is fantastic for all kinds of activity - lots of walking/cycling routes on the doorstep. It is very peaceful, perfect for a break from working life! The owners were wonderful and couldnt do enough for us. We cant wait to book to go again!
