This attractive cottage is situated in a beautiful quiet location on a working farm with 100 acres of land to explore. With farm shop, café, games room and nature trail, this is a lovely holiday home.

This charming property nestles in Weardale in the heart of the stunning Durham Dales, and is only a couple of miles from Wolsingham, a lovely picturesque village. The popular city of Durham is only a dozen miles away and offers a wide range of shops, restaurants, pubs and places to visit, including the historic cathedral. Also nearby are the North Pennines, which are ideal for walkers, cyclists and mountain bikers, with stunning landscapes, heather-covered moors and rugged peat lands. Remaining on the farm, you can see animals including cattle and sheep, or explore the farmland where you will find a nature trail, riverside paths, an ancient monument, a playing field and even a medieval moat.

On entering this charming and traditional single-floor holiday cottage you will find yourself in a cosy and welcoming lounge. With exposed beams and original stone wall, this is a quaint but attractive room to relax in, complete with TV/DVD and stylish furnishings. Moving into the bright kitchen/diner, you will find a delightful dining area and a beautifully designed kitchen which is fully equipped with electric oven and hob, fridge/freezer and microwave. Exploring this lovely cottage further, you will find a comfy double bedroom and a bathroom complete with shower over the bath and WC.

Stepping outside, you can sit back in a private seating area. The farm shop and cafe are within walking distance, and you can also make use of the on-site games room which is shared with the other properties on-site, and which offers air hockey, table football and table tennis. You are also invited to explore up to 100 acres of farmland. There are also shared play facilities: a children’s paddock with sand pit, an indoor play corner and opportunities to ride on tractors. There is also a shared utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer.

Lovely cottage. The only downside is having to drive everywhere about 30 to 40 minutes to get to places. Beautiful countryside.

Fabulous place as a base to explore all the walks. Fantastic cottage and ideal for a large dog (we have a german Shepard) Loved the games room and all the facilities in it for if anyone has children and its a raining day (ping ping table,pool table, air hockey table. Lovely cottage very comfortable and views of the countryside are outstanding. Ideal for dogs specially made track around the field to walk your dog is wonderful he loved it. Cafe is well run and staff are helpful and pleasant. Would recommend this cottage.

Pleasant location and ideal for exploring the surrounding countryside. Cottage very private for relaxing outside. Double bed which we found a bit of a squeeze after our kingsize bed at home was a little bugbear but we survived.

We really enjoyed our stay in Otter Cottage very clean on arrival and the welcome box was much appreciated. Cottage was just right for 2, really comfortable and as the weather was so good were able to take advantage of the outside table and chairs.
