This beautiful property adjoins the owner’s home and has its own private entrance. You come into the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, where the underfloor heating warms your feet. There is a large, comfortable sofa to snuggle up on together, in front of the TV to watch your favourite shows. The kitchen includes an electric oven and two-ring hob, fridge, dishwasher and a washing machine and there is a dining table with seating for two by the window. The contemporary shower room has a shower and WC. Heading up the stairs, you will find the spacious double bedroom with high ceilings, dual aspect windows with views of open countryside and exposed beams adding to the sense of space and calm.

Outside, you have access to the owner’s patio garden with a table and chairs where you can enjoy a drink and dine alfresco. There is space to leave your bikes and an outside tap to rinse them off. There is roadside parking adjacent to the cottage, subject to availability.

This is a superb holiday property, in the quiet village of Acomb, but within walking distance of Hexham. Laburnum Annex is superbly fitted out and the hosts are extremely helpful. The five-star limit is insufficient!
