You can also walk to the shops, pubs and restaurants and visit the bi-monthly farmers’ market, all less than 1 mile away. Wander to the play area and golf club next to the river or spend a day at the races. Head to Hadrian’s Wall country and see Vindolanda’s Roman ruins, museum and restaurant, 12.5 miles. Visit The Sill: National Landscape Discovery Centre (14 miles), or head to Corbridge Roman town for the history, great food and shopping, just 6 miles away.
