A beautiful cottage in a lovely setting. We saw lots of deer, a barn owl, hares, squirrels and pheasants. The grandchildren were entranced and loved the ruined castle (really a church) in the field! The place itself was warm and welcoming, perfect as a base for exploring the area. Beamish Museum is 15-20 minutes away, and Newcastle is very easy to Read morevisit. We fully recommend the Owl and Otter in Dipton for a meal. John and Ruth were perfect hosts, ready to answer any questions. Hide
