Myself, my husband and our two friends stayed here for the weekend. The courtyard is pretty and the decor throughout the cottage itself is lovely. It has a fabulous fire in the sitting room, ideal for those chilly evenings and two well equipped, en suite bedrooms. The only draw back, is there is no freezer at all, I expected there would at Read moreleast be a small freezer compartment inside the fridge. We did take frozen food with us and found we couldn't keep/make ice for drinks. However, the cottage is situated right next to a beautiful country park and has easy access to shops, Beamish, Northumberland etc. The road running past the cottage can be busy during the day, but I can honestly say the noise did not bother us, you would have to listen for the traffic and certainly didn't disrupt any sleep. The beds were comfy and there was lots of nice little touches here and there, especially the fabulous chocolate cake available on arrival. We would most definitely return to this wonderful cottage!
