This open plan cottage is ideally situated for exploring the picturesque Northumberland coastline and is set in the gorgeous countryside of the link road between Whickham and Burnopfield. It is located in an area that was once part of the renowned Gibside Estate, previously owned by the Royal Bowes-Lyon family. The town of Whickham is the perfect base from which to reach the famous tourist attractions of the MetroCentre, Hadrian's Wall and is just five miles from Newcastle upon Tyne, with local shops and a pub nearby. Golfing enthusiasts may want to have a round at Whickham Golf Club with its imaginative layout and welcoming clubhouse.

This single-level cottage has an open plan layout, all on one level, with every facility and feature required for a relaxing break. It is best suited for a couple or a family of three. The lounge/kitchen/diner is furnished with a dining table large enough to accommodate all three guests, and ample comfortable seating to unwind on after a long day of exciting touring. Entertainment is catered for with a TV/DVD, Wi-Fi and CD. The fully equipped stylish kitchen area has an electric oven and hob, a fridge with freezer box, a washer/dryer and microwave. The two bedrooms, a double and a single, share a bathroom with a large shower cubicle, with WC.

Outside space includes a shared courtyard, complete with garden furniture and guests have access to the beautiful one and a half acres of shared gardens and meadow.

Cottage was immaculate, very well looked after. Karl, the owner, was very helpful and welcoming and on hand for help or advice. Beds very comfortable, lots of fresh towels and few bits to help on arrival as tea bags, coffee, milk, etc. The property is small but we felt extremely comfortable and ideal for the 3 of us plus our dog. Lovely homely comfortable cottage. Owners live on site and are very welcoming and helpful but not intrusive. We stayed with our dog and there was a great secure private area for him to run around on. There are also some lovely walks nearby - You can access the grounds if Gibside Hall just across the round and the derwent walk is a short drive away Read moreas is Watergate park amongst others. The local pub is a 5 minute walk away and is dog friendly. A great base for exploring the north east. Hide
