Located near a number of Dark Sky Discovery sites, so bring warm clothing and binoculars for star gazing one night. Just a short drive away, you’ll find historic Corbridge, once known as Corstopitum, a Roman garrison town by Hadrian’s Wall with a crossing over the River Tyne. These days, it’s home to beautiful independent shops, and the annual Corbridge Festival, celebrating music and street theatre. Head to Hexham to experience the area’s Viking history, with its ancient abbey and atmospheric gaol – the earliest British prison. Alternatively, your cottage is the perfect place to plan a hike from, with the nearby village of Riding Mill a couple of miles from your doorstep.

Moving into the open-plan lounge/bedroom area, you’ll find all the contemporary home comforts you’ll need for your stay, including a TV/DVD, Wi-Fi and a wall-mounted electric fire with ample comfortable seating to curl up on. In the bedroom area, there is a cosy double bed, with bedside tables and alcove storage for you to hang up your clothes. The en-suite shower room features a shower cubicle, with WC.
