This welcoming terraced property is located an easy 10 minute walk from the village of Wylam, birthplace of the early railway pioneer, George Stephenson with a good range of pubs, restaurants, and independent shops and, of course, the train station for days out in Newcastle and Hexham and Carlisle. Visit Hexham Abbey, and Sele Park, and browse this historic market town’s many shops, pubs, and restaurants. The property is located in a small hamlet in the middle of the beautiful Tyne Riverside Country Park with various footpaths and picnic areas, perfect for walking and cycling. It is also located on the Hadrian’s Cycleway which follows the route of Hadrian’s Wall. Visit the amazing Roman fort and Museum at Vindolanda and Housesteads. Play golf at Close House, have a family day at the award-winning Beamish Living Museum of the North, and head to Tynemouth for the glorious coastline.
Step through the front door and into a small hallway. Head into the lounge with original sash windows and a view of the small, south-facing front garden where you can relax weary legs after a day’s walking and cycling. There are two comfortable sofas, plenty of books to browse through during your stay, and a cosy open fire, and for your entertainment, you can watch a movie on the Smart TV and DVD player. The original country-style kitchen/dining area is full of character with a warming wood burner and a large, farmhouse table where you can eat your meals together and plan your daily adventures. Please be aware that some of the cupboards are set quite high. The kitchen has everything you need to prepare hearty fare and there is a cupboard with books, DVDs and games for all the family. The utility/boot room is off the kitchen with a washing machine, tumble dryer, and tall freezer. A door leads out into the enclosed rear yard and the gate opens onto the back lane. This is ideal for bringing bikes in and you can store them in the yard or bring them into the utility room. Upstairs on the first floor, you will find two double bedrooms, each with a feature fireplace, lots of reading material, and original sash windows. The family bathroom comprises a shower over the bath and WC. The two single bedrooms are on the second floor; one at the rear with a large window and views over the rooftops towards Hadrian’s way walk and one at the front with a Velux-style window.
Outside, the small, south-facing front garden is enclosed with mature planting, a garden table, and seating, perfect for al fresco dining or drinks, and dark-sky star gazing. To the rear, the enclosed yard is ideal for access with a dog and bikes.
